Compare snapshots of the system registry with this tool.

What Changed is a free and basic utility that takes a snapshot of the registry and can compare future versions of the Windows Registry after a program installation.

The utility will display the differences with a before and after view.

Usage is simple: Upon running the program, make a snapshot. After any changes have been made, use Step #2 and find what has changed since Step #1.

Overall, a useful utility for anybody wishing to check which system files and registry entries have been modified by any particular software installation or general system modification.

Compatibility and License

What Changed is provided under a freeware license on Windows from PC utilities with no restrictions on usage. Download and installation of this PC software is free and 1.07 is the latest version last time we checked.

What version of Windows can What Changed run on?

What Changed can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems with no dedicated 64-bit download provided.
